Trucking Safety

ARVI has a dedication to safety.  We want to ensure our drivers are safe at all times, and in order to do that, we offer safety training and also provide staff with the latest information in regards to safety.

Our goal is to prevent all accidents.  With the right information, we believe that is possible, and we will continue to strive toward that goal.

Because safety is so important to ARVI, we offer many programs in order to teach employees of every level the importance of safety.

Safety Meetings

ARVI Transport conducts a safety meeting each month.  We use this opportunity to remind our drivers how to avoid accidents while driving.  We believe that all critical accidents, such as rollovers, can be avoided with the right training.

Retraining

When a driver is in an accident, they will not be able to go back on the road until they complete our retraining.  Our retraining is meant to do several things.  With retraining, drivers will:

  • Have their risk level assessed
  • Learn what they can do in the future to avoid accidents
  • Work on the safety fundamentals

Drivers will not be released back to the roads until they prove they have learned from the retraining process.

Risk Assessment

In addition to training, we also keep a risk assessment of all employees.  We identify those employees who are not operating their trucks in a safe manner.  We will work with those employees to get them up to code.  If they are unable to adapt to our safety measures, they will not be able to continue driving one of our trucks.

We also work to assess the risks of the industry.  When we assess those risks, we let our drivers know the issues that truck drivers are having.  By teaching them the different issues, we can help them avoid the problems.

New Truck Drivers

When a new driver is hired, we make sure they understand how to incorporate safety into their driving.  In order to do this, we teach them about road hazards, as well as how to drive in a way that will minimize risk.  They are put through safety classes to make sure they understand the fundamentals of safe driving.

The safety orientation will give new drivers all of the information they need to lay the groundwork for being a safe driver.  We will also teach drivers what to do in case they do have an accident.

Training while Driving

We understand that while a classroom will lay the groundwork for safety, it will not teach a new driver everything he needs to know.  Because of that, our drivers will drive with a trainer in order to prove they have learned the safety skills and they can put them to use while in the truck.

Rewarded for Safety

When you are an employee of ARVI, you will be rewarded for safety.  We take safety seriously, and we appreciate it when our employees do as well.  Because of that, we will recognize those employees who have shown a dedication to safety through their driving.

By incorporating these safety measures, ARVI hopes to show truck drivers the importance of safety.  It is necessary for each member of the ARVI team to take safety seriously in order to avoid accidents.
